They offer a few tweaks regarding connections. However, they can only be used in the browser. Unlike the above free proxy servers, website proxy servers don’t need any setup. Sure, you may have to pay a small sum to use those, but it’s so much better than potentially compromising your computer or phone. Most known VPNs have been independently tested and have been certified to follow all necessary safety and security procedures. As I said, VPNs are still the most secure method to change your IP address. So, please do not use free proxies in 2023. They either intercept your data (potentially your passwords) or even send malicious data to your device. The way these free proxy sites make money by using your traffic for nefarious purposes. It makes no sense for anyone to just offer these for free. I mean, think about it… why would anyone offer proxies for free just like that without expecting to gain anything? Running servers is super expensive, especially with high traffic.
I get it, free it free, but please trust me when I say that it’s never worth it. Free proxies are a privacy nightmare and should be avoided at all costs. 2023 Update: Many people still keep asking me if they should use free proxies in 2023.
